World Heritage information
Mickelsörarna
Mickelsörarna archipelago is made up of almost 300 islands, reefs and islets. Large and small forested islands are surrounded by relatively deep waters, with fewer underwater rocks than in many other parts of the Kvarken area, as well as rocky reefs and heath-covered islands. The many ancient ruins bear witness to the fact that humans roamed these islands long ago. The former coast guard station on Kummelskäret now serves as a nature station.
